About RLS
Routt Land Services provides Colorado landowners in Routt County and surrounding counties with the knowledge and services they need to best manage their forests and natural landscapes. Based out of Steamboat Springs, our goal is to improve the community’s resiliency to wildfire and the quality of wildlife habitat. Land treatments reduce the fuels in our forests making wildfire easier to contain and makes space for wildlife.
RLS can add recreational opportunities for landowners by clearing trails for hiking, biking, skiing, and snowshoeing. We also do technical and high risk tree removals close to structures.
MEET GABE WILEY
Gabe Wiley is a graduate of the University of Wyoming where he studied environmental science and agriculture. He has worked all throughout Routt County with exposure to many facets of land management. Beyond providing fire mitigation and land development services, he has
experience in forest stand surveys and helping to develop forest management plans. Gabe formerly worked for a statewide land trust where he helped to conserve wildlife habitat and ranching landscapes with a focus in Routt County. He also coauthored research published in Case Studies in the Environment on the use of prescribed burning across Wyoming. In his free time, Gabe enjoys camping and hiking with his chocolate labs, Koda Jolene and Kirkland, and traveling across the country to visit national parks and forests.
